MAC WELDING TABLE GUIDE

WHICH MAC TABLE?

Start with how you actually work, not a catalogue number. If you weld at weekends, you do not need an ULTRA. If you fixture every day, a BASIC will make you work harder than you need to. Pick the range that matches the bay, then size it in the configurator.

THE MAC RANGE

Start with how you work.

Do not buy a catalogue number. Pick the construction that matches the work going through the bay, then use the configurator for the exact size and options.

01LIGHT / PORTABLE
MAC BASIC welding table

BASIC

For: light workshop use, portable setups and a first fixture table.

16 mm6 mm top±1.5 mm200 kg UDL

A proper hole grid and steel top without paying for a production subframe. Use it as a portable jig table or a second station.

02HOME WORKSHOP
MAC HOBBY welding table

HOBBY

For: serious home workshops that want legs and mobility.

16 mm6 mm top±1.5 mm500 kg UDL

A complete standing table you can roll around the workshop. No fixture skirt — clamps work from the top face.

04PRODUCTION
MAC PRO welding table

PRO 6 / 8 / 10

For: production bays, repeat fixtures and trade workshops.

6 / 8 / 10 mm200 mm sides5,000 kg UDLRibbed frame

Deep working sides and a 200 mm tab-and-slot rib subframe. PRO 10 opens the 28 mm tooling option; PRO 6 and PRO 8 remain 16 mm.

05HEAVY / PRECISION
MAC ULTRA welding table

ULTRA

For: heavy fixtures, thick plate and shops that measure the top.

10 / 15 mm±0.2 mmS355J2+N6,500 kg UDL

Heavier plate, 100 × 100 mm legs and the highest MAC specification. Choose it when the table is part of the measuring and fixturing system.

QUICK CHOOSER

Tell us the job.

If one of these sounds like your workshop, that is where we would start the conversation.

TOOLING SYSTEM

16 mm or 28 mm?

16

16 mm / 50 mm pitch

Fast, close-spaced fixturing and the natural choice if your shop already owns 16 mm clamps, stops and squares. BASIC, HOBBY and MidiPRO stay on 16 mm.

28

28 mm system

Larger pins and heavier tooling for bigger fixtures and production work. PRO 10 and ULTRA provide 28 mm routes.

Choose the tooling system because it suits the work and the tooling you own — not simply because the hole is larger.
BUILD OPTION

Ready-made or self-weld?

01

Ready-made by MAC

We cut, assemble, weld and check the table before it leaves our workshop. Specify legs or castors and get it into the bay.

02

Self-weld kit

We manufacture the precision laser-cut plates and you complete the final assembly and welding. Lower cost, same manufactured components.

PRO OR ULTRA

The two heavy ranges, side by side.

Production and heavy-fixture buyers usually end up choosing between PRO and ULTRA. Both offer 16 mm and 28 mm tooling routes; the differences are plate thickness, flatness, structure and load.

01

You talk to the manufacturer.

Custom footprint, unusual details, laser-cut fixtures and production questions come back to the same workshop that makes the parts.

02

Keep the tooling that works.

16 mm remains a serious option through the MAC range. Moving to a stronger table does not automatically mean replacing your clamp drawer.

03

Between two ranges?

Tell us the heaviest part you fixture and the tooling you already own, and we will say which range we would start with. Call 01432 381 233 or email sales@macindustries.co.uk.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

Pick the range. Configure the rest.

  1. Choose the range from the comparisons above.
  2. Open the configurator and choose size, hole system, thickness, legs or castors and build option.
  3. Add tooling if the workshop needs clamps, stops or squares.
  4. Check out, or choose Get a formal quote in the basket if the order needs a PO or internal approval.

Need a non-standard footprint, working height, logo or fixture detail? Add it to the notes. The same workshop can tell you whether it is a configured table, a special or a separate laser-cut job.
